Jobsite Glassdoor has released its list of 2017’s Top 20 Employee Benefits, and slides and free snacks are so 2016. Due to increased competition for talent within the tech sector, employers are upping their game on creative & unique employee benefits.
Taking into consideration benefits offered by some 600,000+ employers, Glassdoor finalized their list down to just 20 (as ranked by feedback by their employees). Did your company make the list? If not, which benefit would you most like to have in your current workplace?
The benefits listed below are not the only ones offered by these employers. In fact, to make this list, these organizations needed to already have highly competitive compensation & benefits that were then differentiated by another unique & exceptional offering to employees.
Facebook, Healthcare Coverage & Free Housing for Interns
Interns are provided healthcare, free housing, and report being paid very generously (some report earning incomes of more than $7,000 per month.) Source: Glassdoor

Bain & Company, 2-Day Soccer Tournament
All employees are able to participate in a two-day, global “Bain World Cup” soccer tournament that changes location each year. Last year it was in Brussels, in 2017 it will be in Los Angeles. Source: Glassdoor

IKEA, 4-Months of Paid Maternity Leave

Starbucks, Full Tuition Reimbursement including Online Bachelor’s Degree

American Express, Up to 5 months fully-paid Parental Leave
Employees at AMEX receive up to five months of fully-paid leave for both mothers and fathers, and birthing mothers receive an additional 6-8 weeks under salary continuation for medical leave. They also have access to Ramp Back, a program that allows moms control over easing back to work after maternity leave. This perk is available to all Amazon employees in corporate, customer service and fulfillment centers.
